How old do I have to be to play?

ARC Inc. events can range from seven years and over. Each event has its own age rating depending on its levels of mature content.  Children under the age of 16 need a parent or guardian’s presence at the event.  Anyone under the age of 18 need to provide a signed parental permission slip per event or campaign game.

What’s a LARP?

LARP stands for Live Action Role Playing. Players take on the roles of specific characters, either created themselves or designed by a Game Master, to play through a simulated event such as a zombie apocalypse or a tea party with the faerie. The player physically moves through the space, acts as the character, and talks as them.

Do All Games Use Foam Swords?

In some games powers and combats are resolved with dice, while in others they are resolved with gestures and foam swords or foam blasters.

Do I Need To Know All The LARP Rules?

It is important to read through the rulebook and get a grasp of the basic mechanics, however, you might not need to commit all of the rules to memory. It’s important to know what your character can do so you can make your choices in the game.

Where would I get LARP Weapons or Medieval Costumes?

If the game you’re in is set in an earlier era, or you need a foam weapon either modern or historical, there are a few places to go.

Is There Anything Else I Need To Bring To Game?

This depends on the game. The event’s rulebook will give more information on what you need to bring with you, however, when in doubt you can always contact ARC or your Game Master with any questions. Typically you only need to bring yourself and whatever costume you are wearing.
